Frequently Asked QuestionsAll Okinawan Shorin Ryu Karate and Kobudo FederationAll Okinawan Shorin Ryu Karate and Kobudo Federation What are the benefits of Karate?

Besides developing physical and psychological fitness, you'll gain self-discipline, perseverance, and a wide knowledge of self-defense.  Most importantly of all, you'll develop an awareness of things around you.

How long until I receive my blackbelt?

It depends on the individual and the time he or she devotes to practice.   Although 5 years is normal, it is possible with hard work and diligence to earn you blackbelt in 3 to 5 years.

Do you need natural athletic ability to become proficient?

No.  In fact, karate is ideal for those who are not athletically inclined.   There are few physical restrictions and everyone can progress and develop within their own limitation.

Do I have to sign a contract?

ABSOLUTELY NOT!  Okinawan Karate Club does not require you to sign a contract at any time and class tuition is assessed monthly.
